This is Detroit the birthplace of Techno. I know that there are going to be some awesome events on New Years. Yeah right. Maybe in a perfect world. Personally I am going to be DJing a house party in Pontiac and then going to one of the few decent things going on. The first and best sounding is a DJ Sneak party at Oslo. $20 before midnight! With Sneak will be Jason Hodges and Chuck Daniels. If your looking for house music than this is the party to go to. I’m sure the place will be packed and hard to find a drink and some big cop looking guy will try to stick his hands in your pockets. Get wasted on the way there so your able to dance properly without waiting the whole night to get a drink. The next party is a Disfresh and Maximal collaboration. I went to a new year’s eve party thrown by these guys two years ago at the Finite Gallery. I had a blast. Disfresh was bumping some smooth house all night long. The drinks were strong and flowing till morning. This party is going to be at the T.V. bar which I have not been to yet but have heard some good things about. I will most likely end up at this party because I have been wanting to check out the venue for some time. Notable DJs are Terry Charles, Joshua Harrison, John Johr, Monty Luke, and Gabe Real. It is also the cheapest party. $10. The third is a DPS and DetUnd event. It is being held at the Park bar behind the Filmore. I was at the park bar last weekend for one of Stacey Pullen’s Radio Skool parties and I thought the venue was tight. It had an unfinished quality to it that made for a proper environment. The line up for this particular event though is not half as good as the one I attended last weekend. The only notable DJ is Terrence Dixon from Metroplex and Tresor. Although he is very good I don’t think it will be worth $15 to see just him with some Detroit DJs that we can see anytime. What do you think? Any parties I missed?
