What’s up everybody?  It’s your boi DJ Chris Macom back at you once again with a superb episode of The Detroit Techno House Podcast hosted by yours truly, Alex Calhoun.  It’s a great time of year for us Techno lovers and House heads in the city of Detroit because its DEMF time once again.  To start off the festivities Alex and I have collected some records of artists, mostly Detroit ones, that will be playing this Memorial Day weekend in Hart Plaza.  To get you even hyper for the events that will be gracing our city, I have created a blazing DJ mix also featuring Movement artists.  We are also really excited this year because we have successfully and skillfully obtained press passes from the gaining popularity of this podcast and website.  So VIP access for us means that you can expect live updates from us backstage via our twitter handle @dtechnohouse.  We will also be reviewing each day of the event and plan for some special interviews with artists playing this year. Personally I will be getting slightly drunk backstage and trying to get a picture with Flava Flav.  So look out for that also.  In the meantime check out this sweet podcast.

The first day of Movement, Detroit’s annual electronic music festival, is always an exciting and curious event for me. Each year is full of familiar scenes and new surprises. Will the bathrooms be clean? Will the lines be long? Will the drinks be overpriced? Will the food be worth eating? And most importantly, which artists, if any, are going to totally rock the heart of Detroit. Fortunately this year, the music was solid.

After wading through the madness of the lines to grab our wristbands and get inside, we were immediately drawn to the Made in Detroit stage and the warm welcoming sounds of some soulful house music being spun by Detroit’s own Michael Geiger. I really love house music; it’s the perfect way to put someone in the mood for a day of dancing and festivities.
