First off, sorry about the lack of pics this week, I forgot the camera, and the low light was giving the cameras on our phones no love at all. Not a huge crowd (never really seems to be anymore), but when we got there around midnight, Danny the Wildchild was bringing his signature energy to the back room of the Works. I’ve probably seen this dude spin more times than I can recall, and he never disappoints. I like that he always throws the turntablist trickery into the drum and bass, and keeps that shit real as hell. He was definitely playing some tracks that were really heavy on the wobble bass, which I thought was awesome, and the hardcore drum and bass kids were dancing their asses off the whole set. Good job ending it out with a slow jam like “Summertime” too, great close to the set. I was quite excited to see Greenkeepers DJ set, but I have to say it was kind of a let down for me personally. After all the energy from Danny the Wildchild, dude kind of started his set off slow, and although he did play some bangin’ vocal house tracks, more than a few were gaudy, clubby shit you should never play in Detroit. Oh yeah, next time your at the works, if your a Redbull-and-whatever drinker, try their bootleg energy drink, Thizz Juice, the picture on the can is priceless, and it’s much less expensive than the ‘Bull.
