Weekend In Review: THC in Hamtramck

This is the second week in a row I have to apologize for the lack of weekend photographs, but I have a much better excuse this week; I lost my camera in a drunken blur at a birthday shindig for a good friend on Friday. So needless to say, if I don’t end up finding it, the quality of pictures on this blog may improve, because I may be forced to buy a new camera. Anyway, Saturday we finally shook off the hangover and made it down to the D. I imagine it would have been cool to see Robert Hood on Friday, but damn, we are straight cashed out on going to the Works every weekend. Dirty Disco at the Bohemian seemed like a good spot for the evening, but this was where shit got a little interesting. As soon as I got on Tillman, there were thug ass dude’s posted all over the street, looked like a scene from New Jack City. I don’t know if shit was poppin‘ off at the Bohemian or what, but shit was lookin‘ hood enough that I didn’t feel like sticking around to find out. We decided the next logical option was to head up to THC and see what was going on there for the night, Brian Cage is always awesome anyway. I was kind of surprised when we got there to hear no 4on4 bangin‘, actually no music at all. I asked the bartender, and he said the DJ’s weren’t playing until after the UFC fight. What the fuck? Since when do you need to hear what’s going on in a UFC fight. Oh well, Red Hook is some delicious beer, and we got to catch a bit of Neil V’s set, big ups on playing some decent acid tracks. Not a great night, but definitely interesting none the less.
