2010….Fuck Yeah! One Be Lo and Funk Night @ The Majestic and other New Years Shananigans.

Well, we all made it through another decade, yee-haw, so Thursday night I made it out with some good friends to celebrate the occasion. We decided to start of the night and ring in the new year at the Woodbridge Pub for the Blank Artists shindig. The place was fuckin’ packed wall to wall, but honestly, none of us were feeling it(The was literally like no room in that place), so we decided to tempt fate and try to make it over to the Majestic before midnight. However, due to some miscalculations on my part, we rung in 2010 in the car, and made it over to Funk Night just after midnight. When I walked in the place was bumpin’! One Be Lo was on the mike with the band, and a huge crowd was milling about. The DJ’s in between the bands sets were on point with some solid, heavy funk. My only complaint was that all night the microphone levels too low, so the band was kind of overpowering everything else. Besides that I had a great night with good friends, new and old. Yeah, there was some techno popping off around town, but for what it was, Funk Night was solid. Big ups to the drunk WSU dude at the door who gave me free whisky! Looking forward to a solid 2010 with lots of amazing electronic music in the D. Here’s a little video for those of you who spent New Years in other places. Peace.
