The Bang Tech 12 Devils Night Party@ The Works

Ahhh….Devils Night, a truly Detroit tradition(seriously, look it up). I had such a blast at the BT12 party last year I was raring to make it out again. I haven’t been to the Works in at least 8 or 9 months, and I was glad to see some changes for the better, I like the newer set-up and the outdoor area. This party was packed, and I mean like super tightly packed. This was really my only complaint of the evening, and it sucked b/c you were shoving your way through a crowd so much, you couldn’t really check out some of the badass costumes(and there was definitely some dope ones). Saw a lot of people I haven’t seen in like forever( I loved Squirt’s “Bill The Butcher” costume), but due to the ebb and flow of the crowd, I didn’t get to talk to them all. Anyway, I thought the overall vibe seemed great, and the music that I saw was great. Big ups the the Beastie Boys and Hall and Oates, fucking great live sets. We weren’t there for very long, and I regret not seeing Jit Wiggins as Prince, or DTM as Public Enemy, but from what I hear it was great. With the way this party keeps growing, I hope BT12 gets a huge space to throw down in next year. Here’s a couple videos of what I saw.

  1. thanks for the review. we were expecting a big crowd, but i didnt expect it to be that nuts.
next year will be on a sunday, but we are already discussing plans on getting a much bigger venue.

  2. Was it better than last year at the Bohemian?
