The Many Mixes of DJ Psycho

DJ Psycho doesn’t care if you came to hear him play techno, he’s gonna play what he wants. Since my early warehouse days in Detroit, I have always loved a good Psycho set. He may play some house, some techno, some electro, but count on him also throwing in some drum and bass, booty, hip-hop, motown, heavy metal, and whatever the fuck else he decides to extract from his seemingly bottomless crates.

Over this past year or so, I have noted something else about this illustrious member of the Detroit Techno Militia; he realeases more DJ mixes than anyone else in the game. It’s literally astounding. I spend a lot of time listening to electronic music, and am always scouring around for new mixes and live sets. DJ Psycho has been in my peripherals for some time for his non-stop barrage of new mixes and podcasts. And Psycho is a DJs DJ, he loves his wax, and throws in a proper amount of turntabalism when it’s needed. This summer I have been following his “Verbs From The Dungeon” series which occasionally contains some electronics elements, but manages to borrow from all genre’s for a really eclectic mix. You can catch up this series and a read a good write up about DJ Psycho on W.A.R.M.T.H.¬†You can also find an archive of some electronic bangers on his Cloudcast page or on the Detroit Techno Militia Soundcloud. For all the new newness, check him out on facebook.

  1. Yeah dude….Psycho has always been on of my favorite DJs. Definitely my favorite local DJ. He blows me away every time I see him spin. I’ll never forget when he played a bunch of Dilla just for me cuz it was my birthday…one of the illest for sure.
