Omar S Celebrates 10 Years of FXHE

FXHEartwork 012114Detroit’s deep house veteran, Omar S, is a DIY kinda guy. Visiting the website for his homegrown label, FXHE, it is apparent that he would rather take care of business personally than rely on industry tactics to sell music. For example, purchasing vinyl from FXHE requires emailing him directly. His reasoning for this is of course to stay underground while still providing good pricing, as stated on his home page.

If his tactics are so underground that you haven’t heard a ton of FXHE tracks yet, now is the time. His latest mix celebrating 10 years of his label will be out shortly on February 1st and will feature 16 tracks of the finest cuts from the label. Omar states that this album is for those that, “missed out the first time”. Even if you’ve heard the tracks before, getting them in a DJ mix the way Omar envisions them to be mixed is pretty special in itself. Check out Juno for a recent interview with the man himself.
